Mrs. Gingrich Dead
Mary Louise, daughter of John and Susan Jones was born near
Zanesville, Ohio, May 12, 1851, and died near Chester, Okla., June 4, 1927, aged 76 years, 22 days.
When about 15 years of age, she moved to McClain, Ill., and shortly after was converted and joined the M. E. church of which she was a member at the time of her
She was united in marriage to Smith Gingrich Oct. 25, 1874. They left Illinois at once for Mitchell County, Kansas, to make their future home, homesteading the farm 4 miles south of Spirit Springs. Here their children
were born and grew to manhood and womanhood. In February of 1897 they moved to Franklin Co, Kansas and resided there until 1902 when they moved to Woodson Co., here Mr. Gingrich's health gave way and they moved to Gaylord, Kansas, to be near their son.
August 25, 1922, she had a light stroke and in October of the same year had a stroke that left her right side helpless. They went to the home of their daughter at once
and lived with her until Sept. 3, 1925; they came to make their home with their son and she peacefully went to sleep at 5:30 the evening of June 4. Her last illness lasted only 36 hours.
All her brothers, sisters, father and mother have passed on before her.
She leaves her invalid husband with whom she had lived 52 years and 8 months; one son, L. C. Gingrich of Chester, Oklahoma; one daughter, Mrs. Florence Barnes of Byers, Colo.; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
The funeral was held at the home of her son at 10 o'clock
Tuesday morning by Rev. Bales, a friend.
