Marjorie Cala

Was born in 1917 in Fort Collins, CO, and died March 10, 2006 in Novato, CA.

She leaves behind her brother and his wife, Calvin and Sybil Russell; daughter, JoHanna Willmann; grandson, Hans Willmann and his wife Ann; grandson, Max Willmann; and three great granddaughters, Alison, Maddie and Grace, who were the light of her life.

With her marriage to Ed Cala in 1974 she gained two more daughters, Linda and Barbara and seven more grandchildren, Brian, Heather, Keith, Tami, Kim, Shannon and Chet. She cherished them all.

She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and life long friends.

She was pre-deceased by three husbands,
Buzz Broadfoote,
Howard Perrine and
Ed Cala, and
two siblings, Martha Perlee and Tracy Russell.

She was raised in Colorado until the family moved to California in the 1920s. After high school she moved to SF and lived there for 66 years.

She moved out of the city two years ago, due to ill health, but under duress! She loved The City.

Marjorie was very successful professionally, as well. She began as a PBX operator with Pillbury, Madison and Sutro in the 1950's and retired 20 years later as the director of all non legal personnel.

After her retirement, she and Ed traveled extensively around the world and had a very active social life with the Shriner's.

The family is very grateful to Hospice particularly, Connie Steele and Pleasant Care for the loving care she received in her last year.

A Memorial Service was held at Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo on March 15.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to St. Anthony's Dining Hall in San Francisco or your favorite charity.
