Ocie "Short" Clell Cole was taken to his heavenly home on June 11, 2009, at the age of 88 years old. He was born September 20, 1920, to Frank and Dora Cole of Protem, Missouri, and married to Elois Wallace on February 14, 1939, in Thornfield, Missouri.

He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Proceeding him in death were his parents; and brothers, Otis and A.F Cole.

Survivors include his wife Elois of 70 yrs of marriage, one remaining brother, Bob Cole and wife, Pat of Clever; son Gary and wife, Cookie of Springfield, Missouri; granddaughters, Camie Cole of Springfield and Cheri and Shawn Simpkins of Lee Summit; and three great-grandsons, Landon Schuder of Springfield, and Alton and Garen Simpkins of Lee Summit, Missouri.

Ocie enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his brothers. He especially loved spending family time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

To the angels among us working at Joy Assisted Living and Christian Healthcare West, the family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the excellent care and support given.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 15, at 10 a.m., in Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 St. Hwy EE (Division), Springfield, Missouri. Graveside services will follow at 11 a.m., in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
