Mr. Fred Hedde has just received the sad news of the death of his only brother, which occurred December 19th at his home in Sageberg, Schleswig-Holstein. The deceased was nearly eighty years of age, and a lawyer, and during the latter years of his life had been afflicted with paralysis. The deceased leaves two sons to mourn his loss, the older of whom is named Fred Hedde and is city architect of Berlin. The younger, Johannes Hedde, is mayor of Kirchhain, Prussia. Fred Hedde, Jr. visited his uncle in this city some years ago and returned to his native land.

Death of Hon. Fred Hedde, pioneer citizen, publicist and founder of the Grand Island Daily Independent, which occurred at his home in The Independent building yesterday, at the age of 89 years.
