Susan Curtiss, 66, formerly of Plymouth/Rock Falls and Mason City passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012, in Bettendorf, Iowa, while battling cancer. Susan will be laid to rest at the Rock Island Arsenal Veterans National Cemetery, Rock Island Ill., Monday, July 2, at 11 a.m. For those wishing to attend the services at the cemetery, please meet at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, located at 422 East 10th Street, Davenport, Iowa, 52803 at 10:30 am. A memorial luncheon will be held at the Rock Falls Community Center Tuesday July 3, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in her name. Arrangements are being handled by the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, Muscatine, Iowa. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes. com. She was born Oct. 21, 1945, in Cuba City, Wis., to Leland and Florence (Keyes) Roloff, and was the oldest of six children. She grew up in Independence Iowa, and attended St. John's Catholic high school. Susan was fortunate to have made many great and loving friends throughout her life living in Wisconsin, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Iowa. She enjoyed many activities and hobbies including; cooking, quilting, reading, gardening, crafts, and socializing with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. Susan is survived by sons Scott Madison - Bettendorf, Jeff (Jayne) Madison - Flagstaff, Ariz., grandchildren Macie Claude - Solon, Iowa, Jack and Sophie Madison - Flagstaff, Ariz., and siblings Bob (Mary Kay) Roloff - West Bend, Wis., Sally (Jerry) Williams - Two Rivers, Wis., John (Paula) Roloff - Fairfield Iowa, Paul (Julie) Roloff - Cedar Falls, Mary (Joe) Grover - Rowley, Iowa, and numerous nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband James W. Curtiss - Plymouth/Rock Falls, parents Leland and Florence Roloff - Independence, Iowa, and nephew Matthew Williams - Two Rivers, Wis.
