Theodore Wells Connery was born Feb. 14,1896, at Monroe, Wisc., to Edward and Lillis (Wells) Connery and passed away at the Crest View Manor in Chadron, Ne., April 23,1979.
After the death of his father, when Ted was quite small, the family moved to western Nebraska and homesteaded South of Cody where Ted grew to manhood. He served his country in W.W.1. in Germany and France and was a prisoner of war.
On October 20,1920, he married Mamie B. Reeves at Cody, Ne., and to this union were born 6 children, Lillis Cheney, Fresno, Calif.; Orin Mac, Cody, Ne; Roger, David City, Ne.;
Eddie and Bernard, Chadron, Ne.; and Teddie, Jr., Denver, Colo.
Ted was educated in the rural schools in Cherry County. He ranched for a time and was a rural mail carrier out of Cody for many years. He was active a number of years in the American Legion and in later life did much work in improving the cemetery. He loved children and made a home for children in need.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie, and his parents. He is survived by all six children, 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, his sister, Mabel Lee of Aztec, New Mexico, and by numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial Services were held at Hunt's Chapel United Methodist Church, Cody, Ne., April 26,1979. Burial was in Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Cody, Ne. Pastor Russell DeWitt in charge.
