Deputy Sheriff Ed Chandler, who died at his home in Groveton, Trinity County, on Monday, was well known in this city, having been a frequent visitor to Palestine. He was a good officer, and was serving under his brother, Dave Chandler, Sheriff of Trinity County. He died from smallpox.
