Sandra H. Sterrett
Services for Sandra H. Sterrett, 46, of 2601 Hillside Drive will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Baptist Temple.
She died at 5:36 p.m. Wednesday in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident Tuesday on U.S. 24, east of Logansport.
Born in Jan. 18, 1947, in Logansport, she was the daughter of James B. and Josie E. Dillon Hicks. On Aug. 19, 1972, in Logansport, she was married to Samuel S. Sterrett, at who survives.
Mrs. Sterrett was a learning disabilities teacher at Lewis Cass High School.
She was formerly a resident of South Boston Va., where she had worked in an adult sheltered workshop and as a learning disability teacher. She also had worked in Galveston, Texas, as a rehabilitation therapist.
A member of the Baptist Temple since 1959, Mrs. Sterrett served as a deacon and was a member of the church choir, where she was a frequent soloist. She also was a member of the Psi Iota Xi Sorority.
A 1965 graduate of Logansport High School, she graduated from Indiana State University in 1970.
Also surviving are her mother, of 620-20th St.; one daughter, Summer Noel at home; one brother, James Michael Hicks, Fort Wayne.
Rev. Roger Barnes will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Kroeger Funeral Home, and in the church one hour before the services Monday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Temple Choir Fund.
