John Hamilton
Birth: Jan. 16, 1887
Death: Oct. 15, 1958

Actor. Born in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, he was best remembered for the role of Perry White editor of the Daily Planet on the original TV series of "Adventures of Superman" in the 1950s. He was member of a Broadway company when he made his film debut in "Dangerous Nan McGrew" (1930). His many movie credits include "Two Twisted Gentleman" (1936), "The Spirit of Culver" (1939), "Tear Gas Squad" (1940), "The Maltese Falcon" (1941) and "Sitting Bull" (1954). For television, he also appeared in "The Cisco Kid", "The Gene Autry Show", "Cavalcade of America", TV Reader's Digest" and "Tales of Wells Fargo". He died at age 71 in Glendale, California. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
