Miss Shirley Boocher, 20, of 218 E. Pennsylvania, died at 6:33 a.m. today in Memorial Hospital. The St. Joseph County coroner's office is expected to rule on the cause of death.

BOOCHER — St. Joseph County; Deputy Coroner Dr. James McMeel today ruled today the death of Miss Shirley Boocher, 20, of 218 E. Pennsylvania a suicide by a drug over dose. Miss Boocher died at 6:33 a.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital. She was found unconscious Sunday night in her home and taken to the hospital, where she regained consciousness briefly. Police reports indicated Miss Boocher told doctors she had taken an unknown quantity of pills. Dr. McMeel said the type of drug Miss Boocher took has not yet been determined. Miss Boocher was born in Elkhart on June 10, 1957, and had lived all her life in this area. She was formerly employed as a clerk at the K-Mart store, Mishawaka.
Surviving are two sisters, Linda .and Joyce, at home four brothers, Randy and Eddy, at home, Robert of Mishawaka and Danny of South Bend; her parents, Mrs. Bertha Boocher of South Bend and Vernon L. Boocher of Mishawaka, and her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Marie Tidd of Elkhart.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, Mishawaka, where services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Rev. Thomas P. Murphy, pastor of the Gospel Center, will officiate, and burial, will be in Rice Cemetery, Elkhart. Miss Boocher was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve of South Bend.
