Teresa Brewer

Death: Oct. 17, 2007

Singer. Born Theresa Breuer in Toledo, Ohio, she was a popular vocalist of the 1950s and 1960s, best known for such hits as "Let Me Go, Lover!", "A Tear Fell" and "Music! Music! Music!". She began her entertainment career as a young child performing on local radio programs and at five made her broadcast debut on the "Major Bowes Amateur Hour". In 1953 Brewer appeared in the film "Those Redheads from Seattle" and went on to become a familiar television performer in such programs as "Toast of the Town", "The Perry Como Show" and "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson". Her other memorable songs include, "Silver Dollar", "A Sweet Old Fashioned Girl" and "Empty Arms". She died of complications from neuromuscular disease. (bio by: C.S.)
