The daughter of Harley and Maude Allen Alexander, she and her family resided on a ranch northwest of Gruver, Texas. She graduated from Amarillo High School and attended Ward Belmont College in Memphis, Tenn. On Aug. 16, 1947, she married William Richarad "Buddy" Murrell in Gruver. They moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma A&M, returning to Gruver where they resumed ranching and farming.
Frances sang in the choir at the Gruver United Methodist Church, was president of the Gruver Music Club, an avid bridge player, and devoted to her family and friends. She was an excellent cook and was noted for her delicious hot rolls.
Survivors include her husband, one daughter, three sons, one sister, nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, George & David Alexander.
Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, June 9, at the Gruver United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at the Gruver Cemetery.
