"Mr. Frank Hale, who has been visiting hereabouts, for the past month, has started on the return journey to his home in Hartford, Connecticut. He will stop a few weeks at Mendon, Illinois, where old acquaintances live."
On the back of one of Francis Hale's pictures, in Grandmother Lulubel's handwriting, it says that Francis remembered Henry O. Hale in his will.

Francis Hale, a long-time resident of this city, died at the Hartford Hospital last night of pneumonia at the age of 73 years. He had been ill about six weeks, so the end did not come unexpectedly. Mr. Hale was born in Glastonbury, June 17, 1838, and received his early education there. He removed to this city soon after the Civil War, in which he enlisted and fought with Company H, Twenty-fifth Regiment C. V. He was employed as general repair man of the old horse railroad company and worked at his trade until 1909, since which time he had lived with several of his children. Mr. Hale was twice married and had five children, three daughters and two sons. They are: Mrs. H. A. Clough of Glastonbury; Mrs. George Waters of Buffalo, Mrs. A. W. Moseley of Glastonbury, J. A. Hale of East Hartford and Frank O. Hale, of Hazardville. He has also sixteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. For the past two years Mr. Hale had been living with his son, Frank O. Hale, in Hazardville. He was a member of Morris Post, G. A. R. of Wethersfield and the Center Church.
The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of one of his sisters in Glastonbury. The arrangements for the ceremony have not yet been completed, but the burial will take place in the family plot in Green Cemetery in Glastonbury."
