(From MetroWest Daily News, MA) NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine -- Robert Domenic Fiorentino, 57, of New Gloucester, Maine, died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at his home.
He was the husband of Jacqueline Fiorentino, whom he met while working as music director for the Boston Shakespeare Co.
He was the son of Theresa Fiorentino and the late Dr. Domenic Fiorentino of Marlborough.
He graduated from Marian High School and Boston College. He was employed as the director of the Social Security Office of Hearings and Appeals in Portland, Maine, for more than 30 years.
Days before his death, he was honored with the 2006 Social Security Administration Commissioners Team Honor Award, a national recognition.
Until the end of his life, he was an active member of The Greater Portland Oldtimers Hockey League. He had a passion for music, theatre, hockey, cooking and, most important, for life.
Besides his wife and mother, he leaves his children, Francesca of Denver, Colo., Domenica of Bearsville, N.Y., Anna of New Gloucester, and Alexander; his sister, Carol; his brother, Paul; and a wonderful array of family and friends.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 18, at 2 p.m., at the First Congregational Church, 19 Gloucester Hill Road, New Gloucester.
Visiting hours are today, from 5 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, March 18, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State St., Portland.
Instead of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Casco Bay Youth Hockey Association, P.O. Box 7482, Portland, ME 04112.
