Viola was born on May 4, 1906, the second of ten children and the first to be born in Altoona, PA. She had sisters Geneva, Elma, Emily (Mayme), Nora and Josephine (Tootie) & brothers Sonny, John, Herman and Elmer, who died as a baby. She moved to Cleveland about 1916 with her family where she grew up.
She was 21 when she married Victor "Albert" Profughi, he was 20, on June 25, 1927 at Holy Redeemer Church. She had two children, Alberta born in 1928 and Terrance born 18 years later in 1946 at age 40.
Viola was an attendant in her cousin Onda Calandra's wedding in Dec. 1931.
She and Albert bought Technical Metal Processing in 1956 and was the company vice president until her death. The business was passed on to her children.
Viola was living at 3709 Fenley in Cleveland Hts. with Victor and had been married 48 years when she died on March 14, 1975 at Richmond Hts. General Hospital from acute pulmonary edema and bronchopneumonia at age 68.
She is buried at Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio, Sec. 43, lot 521 with her husband Victor, who died three years later on Sept. 26, 1978 at age 72.
She was survived by her husband, daughter and two granddaughters Randi & Rayna.

PROFUGHI (nee Calandra), beloved wife of Albert, dearest mother of Mrs. Ray Cimorell (Alberta) and Terence, devoted grandmother of Randi Lynn and Rayna Lee, dear sister of Mrs. Geneva Scardelleti (deceased), Sonny (deceased), Mrs. Elma Raffo (deceased), Mrs. George Palko (Mayme), John, Herman (deceased), Mrs. Nora Higgins (deceased) and Mrs. Zolton Popp (Josephine).
The family will receive friends at The DiCicco & Sons Funeral Home, 15707 St. Clair Ave., Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass 10:30 a.m. Monday March 17 at Holy Redeemer Church.
