Aurelio was born on Jan. 25, 1880 in Castilenti, being the 4th of 9 children of Davide and Maria Lucia Calandra. He had brothers Alfredo, Donato, Adalgiso, Cesare & Fioretto who died as a baby in Italy and sisters Cristina and Mary.
His birth certificate lists his name as Eleuterio! He moved to Collecorvino with his mother and younger siblings after April 1893 when his father died.
He married Rose Schiantella about 1900 possibly in Collecorvino, however his first child, Geneva, was born in 1901 in Castilenti.
Aurelio came to America 6/16/1902 on the ship SS Victor and Rose & baby Geneva came in 1903. Aurelio, Rose and Geneva became naturalized citizens in 1914. He signed up for WWI draft at age 38 on Sept 12, 1918. He was living at 15710 Holliday Ave. with Rose and children.
Viola was the 1st child to be born in America in 1906.
He had been maried about 46 years and was living at 932 Rondel Rd. when he died on Jan. 16, 1947 at age 67 from heart failure and is buried at Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland in Sec. 43, lot 739 along with Rose, who died 14 years later on July 4, 1961.

AURELIO CALANDRA, registered for the Armed Services on 9/12/1918. His residence was 15710 Holliday Ave., Cleveland, listed is DOB as Jan 23, 1880, age 38, working at Scientific Sl?eater Co. on E. 152 St. He was of medium height with black hair and eyes.

2. 1940 CENSUS, Cuyahoga Co, OH 4/1940
CALANDRA, Aurelio 60, laborer on WPA project, wife Rose 58, both born in Italy; daughters Nora 17, and Josephine 15, both born in Ohio, were kuvubg in a duplex at 903 Royal Rd. in Cleveland, OH.

3. 1930 CENSUS, Cuyahoga Co, OH 4/1930
CALANDRA, Aurelio 50, laborer; wife Rose 48, both born in Italy; children Elma 20, Emily 17, John 15, Ermand 13, Nora 7, Josephone 5, were lving at 959 Nathaniel St, Cleveland. Elma, Emily & John born in Penna; Ermand, Nora, Josephine born in Ohio.

4. 1920 CENSUS, Cuyahoga Co, OH 1/1920
CALANDRA, Aurelio 40, laborer; wife Rosie 38, children Geneva 18, all born in Italy; Violet 15, Sonny 12, Elma 10, Amelia 7, John 5, all born in Penna.' Ermine 2y 9m and Elmer 11 mos. born in Ohio, were living at 15710 Holliday Ave., Cleveland.

Eleuterio, born in Castilenti, Italy on Jan. 25, 1880. Father, Davide Calandra, 28, (ventotto) a tailor (sarto); mother Lucia Leone, 28.

AURELIO CALANDRA, residence 932 Rondel Rd., Cleveland, married to Rosina; passed away at home on Jan. 16, 1947 from cardiac arrest due to arteriosclerosis at age 66. He was a laborer at Royal Tool Co. Interment LakeView Cemetery Jan. 20, 1947.
Informant was son, John, listed his DOB as 1/23/1880 in Italy. Parents were Davide Calandra & Maria Lucia Leone, both born in Italy.

Friends received at DiCicco's Funeral Home, 15707 St. Clair Ave. Funeral Monday, Jan. 20, at 9:30 a.m. from Holy Redeemer Church.
