Lee Ernest Benton, 72, of Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life on Monday, February 4, 2013.
He was born in Steelton, son of the late Clarence and Eva (White) Benton, a graduate of Steelton-Highspire High School, where he played football, a U. S. Army Veteran of Vietnam War Era, retired from the former Bell Telephone Co. with 22 years of service and in his leisure, enjoyed watching sports and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by four of his brothers, Clarence, Jr., Russell, Herbert and Vernon Benton and he leaves to celebrate his life, his daughters, Sonya Benton of Harrisburg and Andrea Moss of Crofton, MD; his son, Brian Benton; his sister, Bernice "Sis" Bethea, both of Harrisburg; his brother, Franklin Benton of Charlotte, NC; his two granddaughters, Shaliah and Dominique "Aliyah" Moss; his great granddaughter, Willow Kirkland and host of other relatives and friends.
His life will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 12 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton, with visitation 10:30 until 11 a.m. and burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
