Gene Couch, 56, of Zephyr died at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Zephyr Methodist Church with Rev. J.K. Brim officiating. Burial will be in Zephyr Cemetery.
A native of Dallas County, he was born Sept. 3, 1892 but spent most of his life in Zephyr. He was a member of the Presbyterian church. He was a carpenter.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Opal, are three daughters, Mrs. Darwin Cornelius of Brady, Mrs. Vance Toliver and Mrs. Ira Beaty of Wink; a brother, O.D. Couch of Zephyr, and six grandchildren. Davis-Morris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
BROWNWOOD, Sept. 18 (1958). Gene Couch, 56 [actually 66], of Zephyr, who died Tuesday night in a Brownwood hospital, was buried Thursday in Zephyr. He had lived there most of his life. Survivors include his wife and three daughters, Mrs. Darwin Cornelius of Brady and Mrs. Vance Toliver and Mrs. Ira Beaty of Wink.
