DUNCAN, 1114 North 11th, died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday in a local hospital after a one-year illness. Duncan was born 4 March 1923 at Terral, and married Nellie King in Henrietta, Texas, 12 May 1951. They lived in Waurika a short time and came to Duncan in June of that year. The veteran of World War II was employed by Magnolia Petroleum Company as a member of a drilling crew. Survivors are the widow, Nellie; and three daughters, Elizabeth Ann, 12; Peggy Kay, 3; and Joannie Marie, 7 months, all of the home address. Also surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee L. Duncan of Ryan; four brothers, Hiram of Wichita Falls, Carl of Terral, Wilford of Elkhart, Kansas, and Lyndall of Ryan. Seven sisters surviving are: Mrs. Gertrude Brown, Kerman, California; Mrs. Ruth Carver, Inglewood, California; Mrs. Mack Suttle, Dayton, Ohio; Mrs. Dovie Wilkes of Wichita Falls; Mrs. Janie Tiffey, El Reno; Mrs. Bernice Papla, Compton, California; and Mrs. Minnie Dora Stewart of Waurika. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Grantham Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens north of Duncan. The Rev. Haskell Rogers, pastor of the Assembly of God Church, will officiate. Bearers are to be Choc Brounaugh, Vernon Denney, Steve Branch, L.A. Snipes, J.T. Harvel and Charlie Hiss."
