He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of Walter L. Fox Post No. 2 American Legion, Dover, Delaware where he served as past commander of the post. He was also past commander of the American Legion District 2 of Delaware.

He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and spending time with family.

He retired from Yale Industrial Lift Trucks in Salisbury Maryland in August 1991, after 25 years working as a mechanic.

He was survived by his wife, Millie Lindale; a son, Thomas Lindale, Jr; a daughter Millie Lehner, and 3 grandchildren, Thomas Lindale, III, Trina Lehner and Ronald Lehner, Jr.
