Alice "Aylee" Linville Bryan
Birth: 1722
Chester County
Pennsylvania, USA
Death: 1807
Shelby County
Kentucky, USA

Aylee Linville, who is believed to have been the daughter of John Linville and Ann Hendricks Linville, married Joseph Bryan circa 1740 at Linville Creek, Frederick County, Virginia, where Joseph purchased land from Aylee's brother William Linville 20 August 1746. Joseph and Aylee remained at Linville Creek until 1755. Ultimately they moved to Floyd's Fork, Shelby (or Jefferson) County, Kentucky. Among their children were Rebecca Bryan, the wife of Daniel Boone, and Martha Bryan, the wife of Daniel's brother Edward "Neddie" Boone.

Your parents John and Ann
Grin at me or grimly frown
(It doesn't really matter which)
Across the years
From either side, ancestors
Of both my mother and my father;

You and your brother Thomas
Therefore are the buttresses
Of an imaginary bridge
That arches over all the oaks
And pines of Carolina,
Spans the rocky chasms

Of the Appalachians,
The blue Ohio, Mississippi
And Missouri,
Endless cornfields, prairies --
A viaduct across ten thousand
Bustling city streets,

Me its center point at last,
Me and half a million others, cousins,
Me a cousin to myself I guess.
