Friedrika ULMER born 25 July 1850 in Johannestal, Beresan, Odessa South Russia was the daughter of Johann Jacob ULMER and Christina Barbara BREMER.

Friedrika married Johannes BERTSCH on the 17th of December 1868 at Rohrbach, Beresan, Odessa, South Russia. The couple was blessed with no less than 14 children.

Johannes and Friedrika BERTSCH along with their children Elisabetha and Gottlieb immigrated to America via the Port of Hamburg, Germany on the 20th of August 1874 aboard the SS "Schiller" and arrived at the Port of New York, New York on the 1st of September 1874.
