He was a 2005 Gibson Southern High School graduated. James was engaged and was scheduled to come home from Iraq for his wedding in a few months. He enlisted in the Marines after graduating from high school, and was deployed to Iraq in June and had been there for four months. He was a two-time Golden Gloves champion who loved to hunt and fish, and had been a leader in the Marines just as he had been a leader with the Titans football team. James was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Owensville. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Van Antwerp. Surviving are his mother, Joanne Van Antwerp; sister, Carma Marie Dart and a brother, Dillen Andrew Friend, his fiancée, Jamie Coleman, aunts, Barbara DeLong, Mary Hess and Tammy Brown; uncles, Roger Brown and Jack Brown. He was 20.
