Lawrence Arnold Vaughn is the son of William Nelson 'Will' Vaughn and Mary Sue (Snow) Vaughn. He is the husband of Gussie (Taylor) Vaughn. Together they had six children. Their names are, Kathryn Benny Marvin 'Bubby' Stanley Brenda & Terry.
Lawrence is survived by his wife and all his children except 'Bubby'. He is also survived by two brothers, Joe W. Vaughn of Wayton, AR., Lynzo 'Doc' Vaughn of Douglass, KS. and one sister, Fern Reynolds of Jasper, AR. He left a legacy of 16 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Lawrence retired from Boeing in Wichita, KS as a metal bond assembler. He loved baseball, whether watching it or listening to it on the radio. As a niece I remember him coming to visit on summer vacations and with his family, would stay with his mom and dad who lived just a mile or so from us. My memories is of seeing him with his ear pressed up against a little battery powered transister radio listening to a baseball game. You could tell how the game was going by watching the expressions on his face. He never had the volume up loud enough that it would bother anyone else but, for me as a little girl it was entertainment enough to just sit quietly somewhere and watch him. He usually would stay outside while the game was on so there were plenty of places for me to just sit and watch him listen. My uncle loved his baseball games.
Songs sung at his funeral were, "The Unclouded Day" "I Will Meet You in the Morning" & "My Child You're Home at Last"
Music was by The Ledbetter Singers.
Officiating was Rev. Garry Ledbetter.
Casket bearers were grandsons, Tim Vaughn Matt Jacobs Mark Vaughn Mike Brasel Wade Jacobs Kevin Vaughn.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." II Timothy 4:7&8
