Jesse Lee Moore, 48, Freeport resident, died Thursday afternoon while at work with the White and Evans Elevator Company in Indianapolis. He had been in failing health for some time but death, attributed to a heart condition, was unexpected.
The son of John and Nettie (Mendenhall) Moore, he was born 7 Feb 1907. On 30 September 1933, he was married to Lottie Balting who survives with two daughters, Mrs. Betty Lee Spurling of Rays Crossing and Patricia Christian at home.
Also surviving are two grandchildren, two sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Pluma Crosby of this city, Mrs. Mary DeMoss and James Moore, Indianapolis, Elisha Moore of Boggstown and Ezra Moore of Los Angeles. There are a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Moore was a member of the local Eagles lodge. His funeral was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Freeport Methodist Church. Burial, in charge of the Hauk Mortuary was in Concord cemetery.
