Erna B. Goble, 75, R. R. 1, Morristown ,died at 3:40 a.m. at the Morristown Nursing Home on Wednesday, 12 Oct 1983.
A daughter of Frederick and Hilda M. Balting, she was born 22 Jun 1908, in Germany. She was married 9 Feb 1929 to William Goble who preceded in death on 18 Sept 1950.
Mrs. Goble, who had lived in the United States for 60 years, had been a cook at the Kopper Kettle for 25 years. She was a former owner of the Freeport Grist Mill with her husband and father. A member of the Freeport United Methodist Church and the UMW of the church, she was also a charter member of the Willard E. Hensley American Legion Auxiliary Post N. 102.
Surviving are a son, Paul O. Goble, Morristown; two daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Dorothy) Simpson and Mrs. Walter (Mary Alice) Lenning, both from Morristown; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Walkar, Canoga Park, Calif.. A brother and sister preceded in death.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Hauk-Spencer Mortuary, Morristown, with the Rev. Wilma Allen officiating. Burial was in Hanover Cemetery.
Friends called after 3 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
