He entered the service on October 12, 1942 in Philadelphia, Army Serial Number 13125573.
He was originally buried in the Temporary American Military Cemetery at Molenhoek, Holland on 1 November 1944, in grave E-7-123.
His jumpboots where found in 2000 by Felix de Klein of The Netherlands at the location of a U.S. Army emergency hospital in the gardens of the former monastery of Nebo in Nijmegen, not far from General Gavins headquarters. Felix de Klein is searching for operation Market Garden relics with a metaldetecor and found a lot of long lost items in the Arnhem, Nijmegen, Eindhoven area.
