Walter P. Emmons, 61 [sic 71], of 3501 Seventh street, died suddenly at his home Friday at 6:30 p.m. of a heart attack. A native of Shelby county, Mr. Emmons had lived in Port Arthur for 20 years. He was an employe of the Gulf refinery and a member of the Church of Christ.
Funeral services will probably be held at Grammier's chapel Tuesday evening. Arrangements are incomplete pending word from a son in California.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Emmy Emmons; two sons, Walter Emmons of the Navy, stationed in California and Beeman Emmons of the Army, stationed on the Marianas islands; five brothers, Rance Emmons of Jasper, Henderson Emmons of Dallas, Emmett Emmons of Austin, Leland Emmons of Aiken and Mart Emmons of Port Arthur; two sisters, Mrs. Allie Yarbrough of Grigsby and Mrs. Frances Whitton of Port Arthur; and three grandchildren.
