Sarah FREEMAN was born to John and Jane (KNOTT) MARTINDALE, January 13, 1849, and was at her passing seventy-eight years, ten months and four days of age, all of her life being spent in or near Hobbieville. She was united in marriage to Wilburn FREEMAN in 1876, who preceded her to the grave three years ago. To this union was born three children, Mrs. Rose JENKINS and Mrs. Florence HOLT, of Bedford; and Mrs. Ella JEWELL, of Linton. She also reared five stepchildren, Edward FREEMAN, of Bedford; Ezra FREEMAN, of Wheatland; Emma LONG, of near Bicknell, and Lydia and Thomas, both deceased. She professed a hope in Christ to her early married life and united with the Methodist church, realizing in her last days more of Godís love and goodness. She leaves to mourn their loss seventeen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Jacob NEAL of Bloomfield, and a host of relatives and friends.
The remains of Mrs. Sarah FREEMAN were taken to Hobbieville Saturday morning where the funeral services were held from the Methodist church. The services were conducted by Rev. Sam RABORN, of Bedford, and were largely attended by friends and relatives of that community, where Mrs. FREEMAN had lived for so many years. The choir from the church at Popcorn sang a group of favorite hymns of the deceased. Six grandsons acted as pallbearers. Interment was in the FREEMAN Cemetery.
