A Confederate Soldier, David served in Co F, 7th SC Cavalry, CSA. He is buried at Pine Island Cem. in the Carolina Forrest , Horry, SC area now lost to development (no one knows of it's whereabouts).

David Rabon is named in his father's will of 1854 (The Will of William Rabon)as inheriting his parents home place (200 acres more or less) & was to take care of his mother, Mary Phillips Rabon & his Aunt Mary Hucks. (see www.HCHSonline.org/wills).

Confederate Service:
Enlisted with Co L, 7th SC Infantry, CSA at Vienna, VA Sept. 30, 1861 age 21. He was in the hospital with measles June 25 - July 5, 1862. Promoted to 1st Corp. Jan. - July 23, 1862; paroled but not released Sept. 27, 1862. He was a POW at Fort McHenry Oct. 13, 1862; paroled & sent to Fortress Monroe for exchange at Chimborazo Hospital wound to thigh Oct. 24 - Nov. 12, 1863, wound furlough for 35 days (extended). Enlisted with Tucker's Cavalry Co B, July 9, 1863 at Georgetown, SC. Present sick July - Aug. 1863. Transferred back to Co L, 7th SC Infantry & present from Dec. 1863 - 1864. Promoted 4th Sergeant June 4, 1864. Transferred to Co F, 7th SC Cavalry Jan. 7, 1865 & remained there until the end of the war.
