Enlisted in the CSA (Civil War) on Sept. 11, 1861, as a PVT. and was promoted to Sergeant in the 34th Reg. Co.E.,killed in a field between Seminary Ridge and the wall where the Union Soldiers were posted. He was killed on July 3, 1863.A stone memorial for him was placed near his parents graves in his memory by relatives.
