Jacob was a veteran of the Civil War, fighting for the Confederacy. He was reported to be wounded at Bristoe Station, Virginia on 14 Oct 1863. He was then hospitalized, until retired to the Invalid Corps on 22 Dec 1864.

Jacob fought with the 15th NC Regiment, Company F. Also known as the "Harnett Light Infantry". After being wounded in the leg at Bristoe Station Virginia, he was retired to the Invalid Corp. He died of "Brain Fever a few years later in 1870. Possibly ...(Read more)
