Mrs. Catherine De La Montanya, widow of a late San Rafael township justice of the peace, who later married Probation Officer Edmund T. (Bud) Blum, died this morning at a local hospital.

Mrs. De La Montanya, 66, had been treated for some time for heart trouble. She lived at 1017 E Street, San Rafael.

Her first husband, Herbert De La Montanya, was a San Francisco newspaper correspondent in Marin County for a number of years prior to election as justice of the peace. After his death about 10 years ago, she married Blum who passed away in June of last year.

She resumed the name De La Montanya after Blum's death. She was the mother of Lloyd, Herbert, Dean, Nick, and James De La Montanya, and was a native of San Francisco. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dominick Needman.

Her son Lloyd, is superintendent of the Marin County Farm and previously was county fire chief.

Private funeral services pending at Keaton's Mortuary, San Rafael.
