Birth: Feb. 21, 1900
Death: Jun. 8, 1978

Dancer, teacher and singer. She trained at the Imperial Ballet School with Preobrajenska but never graduated as she left Russia after the Revolution in October. She made her debut in Yugoslavia in 1920 then went on to perform with Boris Romanov's Romantic Ballet in Berlin. In 1923 she joined Diaghilev's Ballet Russes and became a ballerina. She created roles in Massine's 'Zephyr et Flore' and Balanchine's 'Apollon Musagete'. After Diaghilev died she performed with Anatole Vilzak in Brussels and Paris and appeared in London Cochran revues. In 1933 she performed with Ballets Serge Lifar in London amd with De Basil's Ballet Russes de Monte Carlo at Covent Garden in 1937. After retiring from dancing she turned to singing and began a new career in Italy. Eleven years later she opened her own ballet school in Paris
