Felix was the son of Luke and Ruth Thompson Freeland. He Married Sarah Moberly November 1, 1832 in Montgomery County, Indiana. They had no children.

Felix Freeland who has lived with his nephew, P. F. Cox in Coe Twp. for about 15 years, died Tuesday. He would have been 93 years old on his next birthday. He was born November 5, 1805 and had lived in Rock Island County for the past 60 years, being one of the oldest settlers in this section. At one time he owned a farm in Zuma Twp. and was the landlord of the Old Prairie Home located on the riverbank between Hampton and Rapids City. He was married but his wife died in the 1840's. They had no children. The funeral was Thursday at the M. E. Church in Rapids City with burial beside his parents in a private cemetery on the hillside South of Rapids City.
Sarah Moberly's mother was Nancy Tucker Moberly. Her siblings: Drury Moberly, Dr. John Tucker Moberly who married Margaret Brooks, Walter Granville Moberly, William Moberly, who died a young husband leaving 2 sons, Thomas & Clifton, Charles Nealy Moberly who married Susannah Epperson, and Mary (Polly) who married Asa Young.
Drury Moberly's children: Mary Bird, Nancy Hill, James Moberly, John Tucker Moberly the 2nd, William Moberly, Sarah Mellon, Abraham Moberly, Lewis Moberly, and Samyramus (Samira) Kirkpatrick.
