A daughter of David and Mary A. (Karns) Steele. She was united in marriage with Adam S. Snyder on Dec. 27, 1881. She was survived by her husband, two daughters, Mary Creps and Maude Hall, and four grandsons, Roy Creps, Homer, Roger, and Guy Hall.

The 1910 U. S. Census indicates she was the mother of six children with two living.

The 1900 U. S. Census indicates she was the mother of ten children with two living.

No PA Death Record Index number exists for Emeline Snyder. The Weaver Funeral Home has her J. N. Byers & Son Funeral Home, Woodbury, PA, death record, but the Bedford Court House and the PA Archives in Harrisburg have no death record index number for her.

Her funeral was held in her home with the Rev. Joseph Clapper officiating. She was buried at Yellow Creek Brethren Cemetery, now called Steele Cemetery in a slate vault-six large pieces of heavy slate were used as recalled by Mrs. Weaver today in our phone conversion. Emeline was aged 68 years, 5 months, and 5 days. Dr. Gavelle of New Enterprise was her doctor. mhm Feb. 15, 2013.

Obituary from the papers of Maude (Snyder) Hall:
Mrs. Emeline Snyder, wife of Adam Snyder, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ira Creps, Sunday morning July 12, 1925. She had been in ill health for several weeks, death being due to heart disease. She was born February 7, 1857. She was aged at the time of her death 68 years, 5 months, 5 days. She was the eldest daughter of David and Mary Karns Steele and was married Dec. 27, 1881.
She is survived by her husband, Adam Snyder and two daughters, Mrs. Ira Creps, Loysburg Gap, and Mrs. James B. Hall, of Yellow Creek; the following brothers and sisters: Matthew Steel, Everett; James and Wilson of Henderson, Md.; Aaron, Philipsburg; Jacob of Saxton; Mrs. Fannie Hetrick, of Bellwood; Mrs. Catherine Jasper [Jester], of Newark, Del.; Elizabeth and Sophia Garlick of Sublette, Ill.

[My mother said they lost eight children. She said they had eight children buried in Steele cemetery. Only two stones remain in the cemetery with space to the left. We now know grandson Homer Hall was Rh neg as well as two of his daughters.] mhm
