They established their home along Raccoon Creek, Independence Twp., there they had eleven children: Francis Flanegin,William,John Jr.,Henry,Sarah,Margaret,Elizabeth,Hugh,Emma,Mayes. They later took over the farm of John's sister, Elizabeth Brotherton, in Moon(now Center) Twp.
