My GGGG-Grandmother Elizabeth McCaslin-Burns was born Allegheny County, Pa. in 1797 to Andrew McCaslin (1758-1830) and Christinah D. Brown McCaslin )abt.1758-1830), both from Luss, Dunbarton, Scotland.

She was the only daughter, one of 8 children: Robert, John, Andrew, Samuel, James, George, Elizabeth and William.

Elizabeth married David Burns (1787-1839) in Glade Spring, Butler County, Pa. about 1817. They had 4 children: Alexander, Christiana, Margaret Jane and George McCaslin Burns.

Her husband David Burns died in 1839 leaving Elizabeth a widow and managing a farm on her own.

Elizabeth died on July 13, 1868 in Middlesex Township, Butler County, Pa. and is buried with her husband David in Middlesex United Presbyterian Church Cemetery located at:
116 Church Road,Middlesex Township,Butler County, PA. 16001
