George Thompson, son of Chas. L & Susan Thompson was born on the Thompson farm home 8 miles north of McFall, Aug 11 1862, where he grew to manhood. He departed this life at the home of his brother J. N. Thompson near Matkins at the age of 72 years, 8 months, and 11 days. He was united in marraige to Emma Monger Feb 28 1895. To this union 3 children were born. Kenneth of New Hampton and Harley and an infant son who preceded him in death. Mrs Thompson passed away Dec 5 1931. Mr. Thompson spent most of his life near McFall except a few years spent in Kansas & Nebraska. He became a christian about 35 years ago and united with the Christian church of McFall, he being one of the charter members, where he held membership until his death. He leaves to mourn his passing, one son Kenneth, one sister Ida Miles of Valley Center Kansas, three brothers, C. L. Thompson of Albany, M. O. Thompson of McFall, and J. N. Thompson, with whom he has spent the last two years and where he was tenderly cared for during hisrecent illness and death. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. A. Hyde at the Christian church in McFall, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 and burial was at the McFall cemetary. Relatives who attended the funeral services of Mr. Thompson from a distance were Mr. & Mrs. L. E. Goodman and son David of Neodesha Kansas and Miss Eula Thompson of Brunswick Mo.
