Vacaville Reporter Obituary
Rose Mary Lusby Adams (1919 - 2014)

Our sweet Rose passed away peacefully on March 1, in Vacaville, of natural causes. She was 94. Born in Greenville, Pennsylvania to the late Frank and Mary Benicek, she was the youngest of six children. Rose married the late Joseph C. Lusby in 1943 in Pennsylvania. They were blessed with three sons and moved to Florida in the mid 50's where Rose was active in garden clubs, scouts and the Catholic Church. Joe died in 1961 and after years as a widow, Rose married William Adams. In 1972, Rose and Bill headed west to settle in Fairfield. They spent many happy years there watching their children and grandchildren grow up. Following Bill's retirement from civil service, Rose and Bill relocated to nearby Vacaville where they enjoyed gardening, traveling, and visiting family and friends. In 2008, Bill passed away at the age of 84.

Rose was a long time member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Vacaville. She had a passion for gardening and floristry throughout her life. She also enjoyed church, making friends, cooking, laughing, and spending time with her family. She was like a "grandmother" to many children and adults alike. She was a thoughtful, happy woman and was well known for her kindness and sweet smile wherever she went.

She is survived by her six sons, Joseph (Carla) Lusby II, Dennis (Janet) Lusby, Kevin (Kathy) Lusby, Jon (Janet) Adams, Roger Adams, and Mark (Paula) Adams.
