According to Samuel Allen's Will dated 3 Jun 1854 Rockingham Co. NC which can be found at FamilySearch with some other documents, it mentions BOTH Valentine and William seperately (William being deceased with 2 sons Hamilton and Robert)
Meaning William did not die young.
