Death: May 10, 1863

Charles Stuart Youngblood was the fourth son of Henry Youngblood and Sarah Miller Harvey. He was born 25 January 1835 in Marion County, Mississippi. When he was young his family moved to Caddo Parish, Louisiana. Family records indicate that Charles never married, so he was apparently a young single man at the onset of the War Between the States. On 9 May 1861 Charles enlisted in the Confederate Army in New Orleans. He was assigned to Company H, 2nd. Louisiana Infantry. He served honorably for the first 2 years of the war in spite of spending some time in the hospital with unknown illness. Charles took part in the horrific Battle of Chancellorsville, Virginia where he received mortal wounds on May 3, 1863. He died a week later on May 10, 1863.
