Anne Wood was born the daughter of Thomas Wood and Experience Abell. Thomas Wood immigrated to America from England. Anne was born in Norwich Connecticut.
Anne married Col. Jedediah Elderkin August 31, 1741. Her husband served in the Revolutionary War with honors, was a prominent Lawyer in Windham, Served as the Justice of the Peace in Windham for 30 years and was a member of the deligate to ratify the United States Constitution. They had 8 children.
