Henrietta appears to have first married a man named Chase. When and where that marriage took place, and what became of her first husband is unknown. There is an entry for "Henriette Chase, widow of Robert W. Chase" in an 1872 New York City directory. Records then show she married Marcos Cabrera on July 17, 1902 in Manhattan, NY as "Mrs. Henrietta Chase". However, she may have married him much earlier than that in Cuba based on statements in the 1900 U.S.census. Her living children, Christina (b. Nov 1879) and Leocadia (b. Dec 9, 1881), were both born in Cuba. Records show Henrietta and Marcos were in New York City in the late 1870s. However, New York City directory entries, census records, and passport requests suggest she and Marcos spent most of the 1880s in Cuba. By 1894 it appears they returned to New York City where Henrietta died in 1916.
She and Marcos had three children in the 1870s (all born in New York) that died before they were three years old: Rosanna, Victor, & Ramon. They did have two daughters, Christina and Leocadia, who survived into adulthood. Henrietta and both her daughters were dressmakers in New York City.
