Stephen G. "Steve" Frihart, 47, of Parsons, died Sunday, November 19, 2006, at his home. Death was unexpected. He was born September 6, 1959, in Coffeyville, to Neil F. Frihart and Alice R. (Hill) Frihart. The family came to Parsons when he was four years old. He attended Parsons schools, graduating from Parsons High School in 1977. He completed a two year program in air-conditioning and refrigeration at Pittsburg State University. For a number of years, until he became disabled. he was employed as an installer for various heating and air conditioning companies in this area. He was an avid sports fan and especially followed the St. Louis Cardinals, the Green Bay Packers and the Notre Dame football team. He enjoyed golf and was a member of the Parsons Golf Club. He loved his family and was proud of their accomplishments. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and served as an acolyte in his junior high and senior high years. He had been a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union. On October 26, 1985 he married Laura McAnarney. They later divorced. Stephen's survivors include one son, Phillip J. Frihart of Coffeyville; three daughters, Monica Evans-Lombe of Merriam, Alison Frihart of South Bend, IN, Leanne Frihart of Kansas City, MO; his father, Neil Frihart Sr. and his wife Kay of Coffeyville; his mother, Alice Miller and her fiance Bill Ney of Parsons; one brother, Neil Frihart, Jr and his wife Denise of Tulsa, OK; his companion, Carrie Joslin and her children, Hannah Joslin and Spencer Joslin of Parsons; his children's mother, Laura Hilderbrand of Coffeyville; two half sisters, Laura Debish of Orlando, FL, Lisa Frihart Waterford of Connecticut; three step-sisters, Dixie Hart of Greeley, CO, Lori Ann Moody of Littleton, CO, Tammy Dixon of Coffeyville. FUNERAL SERVICES - will be at 1 p.m., Friday, at St. John's Episcopal Church at 18th and Corning in Parsons, with Rev. Sharon Billman officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Parsons. The family will receive friends at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 112 No. 26th St., Parsons from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday. Memorials are suggested to either St. John's Episcopal Church or to an education fund for his son, Phillip Frihart. These may be left at or sent to the Carson-Wall Funeral Home, Box 942, Parsons, KS 67357.
