AUBURN — Zachary Aaron "Zac" Cloyd, 21, left us on July 4, 2013, while doing one of the things he loved, riding in the wind.
He was born March 29, 1992, in Bryan, Ohio.
Zac worked as an inspector packer for Graphic Packaging in Kendallville where he was working diligently towards receiving a promotion.
Zac enjoyed numerous lifelong interest and accomplishments. A partial list can only be cited that include; first and foremost he enjoyed his friends and family at all times.
As a young boy at the age of 12, he achieved his 1st degree black belt in American Freestyle Karate. He was a successful rabbit herdsman in 4-H and was elected Rabbit Herdsman of the year by his peers. He also won best of show and was top ranked while in 4-H.
He enjoyed music early on and was a percussion member of marching bands for both Barren County High School in Glasgow, Ky., and the DeKalb Marching Band in Waterloo. He was a member of the state champion winter percussion group from DeKalb his sophomore year and continued as a member through his school. He was a graduate of DeKalb High School and attended IPFW.
He is survived by his new best friend, Demon the Doberman.
He loved music and jamming with the guys, cars of any kind, and had a passion for motorcycles since he could walk. He liked firearms, archery, and hunting deer and birds. He loved all animals of all kinds and was striving in the art of experimental cooking and mastering his new grill.
Surviving are his father and step-mother, Patrick A. and Sonya Cloyd of Ashley; his mother and step-father, Kelly J. (Varner) and Craig Christian of Glasgow; two sisters, Emilee Christian and Lydia Christian of Glasgow; a brother, Jacob Christian of Glasgow; and a step-brother, Shae Daler of Crooked Lake; paternal grandparents, Russell and Bonnie Cloyd of Montpelier, Ohio; and maternal grandparents, Herbert and Gay Varner of Sherwood, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a step- brother, Chaz Daler.
Zac left an indelible impact on all those he met that could not be erased. Young or old, wealthy or poor, he treated everyone equally and as if they were lifelong friends. He knew no strangers, only friends he had not met.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 S. Center St., Auburn, with visitation from 10-11 a.m. Monday prior to the service at the funeral home. The Dr. Robert Craig will be officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.
Visitation will also be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Zac's pallbearers will be; Aaron Creps, Kalieb Crites, Shae Daler, Brady Galliers, Brad Hohler, Karl Scattergood, Grant Varner, and Spencer Varner.
Local memorials may be directed to the DeKalb County Humane Shelter.
A memorial service will also be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Glasgow Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 101 Cumberland St., Glasgow, KY, 42141.
Memorials may be directed to a scholarship fund in Zac's memory for the Barren County Band.

An Auburn man died early today in a motorcycle crash on Indiana 327, the DeKalb County sheriff's department said.
Zachary A. Cloyd, 21, was thrown from the motorcycle and struck a tree, causing fatal head injuries, the sheriff's department said in a statement.
The statement said Cloyd was riding west in the 3500 block of Indiana 327 about 1:20 a.m. when he lost control and entered a ditch on the south side of the road.
Cloyd was not wearing a helmet, the statement said. It said speed appears to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
The sheriff's department was assisted by Garrett police, Corunna firefighters and the county EMS, coroner's office and the sheriff's department
