OREM- Blanche Jefferies, 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, in Orem, Utah.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., March 6, at the Nyssa Stake Center, 1309 Park Ave. A viewing will be held 30 minutes prior to the services. Internment will be at the Nyssa City Cemetery.
She was born on March 14, 1920, in Clearfield, Utah, to Don Carlos and Stella Blanch Bybee Moss. She graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City, Utah, and married MARVIN CHESTER JEFFERIES June 23, 1939, in the Salt Lake Temple.
They moved the family to Nyssa, where Marvin owned and operated the local Firestone Store for nearly 30 years. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many church callings with the women and the youth organizations.
Blanche and Marvin served for eight years in the Boise Temple and two years in the St. George, Utah, Temple.
Blanche will be remembered for her wonderful acts of gentleness, her service and dedication to her husband and family, and for the love and kindness shown to her friends and neighbors in the community.
She is survived by three sons, William (Paula) Jefferies, Sequim, Wash., currently living in China, Michael (Merrilyn) Jefferies, Middleton, Idaho and Scott (Deanne) Jefferies, Florence, Ariz.; and two daughters, Joanne (Mitch) Curtis, Provo, Utah and Jeanne (Gaylen) Spear, Nyssa; 27 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Blanche was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin; and two brothers and sister-in-laws, Don B. (Alice) Moss and Dayle (Joyce) Moss; and a granddaughter, Carolee Jefferies.
