Mr. Eugene W. Ambrose, age 87, of Forrest City, died Monday at his home in Forrest City. He was born April 8, 1912, in Harriman, Tenn. a son of Samuel Guy Ambrose and Lucy Wallace Ambrose. He lived in Forrest City most of his life, was a construction contractor, a veteran of World War II and a Baptist. In 1939 he married Virgie Gately, who survives him along with three sons, Charles W. Ambrose and Donald Ambrose, both of Forrest City and John W. Ambrose of Pineville, La.; a daughter, Dorothy Ambrose Sexton of Millington, Tenn.; two brothers, James Ambrose of Michigan City, Ind. and Samuel Guy Ambrose Jr. of Forrest City; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held tonight from 6 until 9 at the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Services for Mr. Ambrose will be held at the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery.FORREST CITY TIMES HERALD
