Birth: Feb. 12, 1843
Death: Nov. 15, 1921

from the Casnovia Hearld:

Duncan McLellan was born in Southold, Ct., February 12, 1843 and died November 15, 1921 at the home of his neice, Mrs. I. C. Neff, aged 78 years, 9 months, and 3 days. His early life was spent at his birthplace. When a young man he came to the United States where he was employed in the lumber mills and the 'Squires Farm. After several years stay in this country, he again returned to Canada where he was engaged in farming at Wallaceburg, Ont. until about 10 years ago when he was forced to retire on account of ill health. Since that time he has made his home with his neices, Mrs. A.J. Parker of Ravenna and Mrs I.C. Neff, of Casnovia. He is very fond of children and nothing pleased him more than to be surrounded by the little folks. He was commonly known as "Uncle Dunk" by both young and old. He joined the "Crusaders" about thirty years ago and since that time has lived a christian life. He was a member of the Orangemen and was also a member of the Canadian Volunteers taking an active part in the Fenian Raid." Three sisters and one brother preceded him in death and he leaves to mourn his loss an aged sister, Mrs. D. Bertrand and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the home of I.C. Neff, Rev. Parsons officiating and the remains were laid to rest in the Hilton Cemetery.
