Billie R. Mock, 80, died Monday, January 30, 2012, in Amarillo, Texas.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, at the First Baptist
Church in Clayton with Reverend Billy Rammage, pastor, ofificiating. Burial
will be in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clay-
ton.
Billie R. Mock was born June 19, 1931, on the family homestead in the. Seneca
area to Raymond Mock, and Docia Rae Tipps Mock. A lifelong resident of Union
County, Billie ranched in the Seneca area his entire life. He married Vernie Jo
Evans Mock June 13, 1956, in Boise City, Oklahoma, and she preceded him in
death January 20, .2003.
They ranched together; near Kenton for eight years and then in the Seneca area
for four years before moving to Clayton in 1968. Vernie Jo and Billie shared a
school bus route for 15 years. Billie was a member of the First Baptist Church
in Clayton.
In addition to his wife and parents, Billie was preceded in death by a son,
Darrel Mock on August 21, 2008; and by two sisters-in-law, Grace Mock and Doris
Mock.
He is survived by two sons, David Mock and wife Mary of Morse, Texas, and
Donald Mock of Normal, Illinois; three brothers, Buddy Mock of Seattle,
Washington, Tommy Mock and wife Dee of Amarillo, Texas, and Sammy Mock of
Perryton, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
